Industrial activity has brought us a lot of material progress. BUT, these material gains have come at the expense of our natural progress. Trees are fewer not more. Clean water is become more scarce. Toxicity and pollution have increased not decreased. As humans we are dependent on natural resources for survival. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, the places we live. The New Industrial Frontier is not a technological one but rather an environmental one. We must learn to harmonize our industrial production with our natural and ecological rythms. I believe chemistry, in particular the focus of chemical research towards enhancing natural sustainability, will be the key to our current and future prosperity. Here at CSTI we continually strive to find ways to connect sustainable chemistry to the local community. We thank you for your continued support.
